Does a geological layer establish that a parcel is safe?

No. It provides available geological context and can indicate further investigation needs. It is not a geotechnical conclusion, seismic certificate or guarantee of zero risk.

  1. Compare the geological record with the site and its surroundings.
  2. Read water lines separately from water-body polygons.
  3. Check source dates, scale and coverage limitations when supplied.

What the layer does not establish

A green-space layer does not establish compliance with a parcel’s K3 requirement. No water shown on the map does not rule out flooding; engineering decisions need appropriate specialist investigation.
